Help Library Inventory Lockers

Lockers

Track locker numbers, combinations, student assignments, linked instruments, and print handout slips for students.

Overview

The Lockers page lets you manage every locker in the current program. Assign students and instruments, store up to four combinations (with one marked as current), track status, and print locker assignment slips for handouts.

Key Features

Locker List

Sortable table showing locker number, location, lock type, current combination, status, assigned student, linked instrument, and notes.

Student & Instrument Assignment

Assign a student or instrument directly from the table using the dropdowns. Assigning a student automatically sets status to Assigned; clearing the student returns it to Available.

Combinations

Store up to four combinations per locker. Mark one as Current in the edit form. The list and printed slips show only the current combination. Combinations are staff-only and never appear on student-facing pages.

Print Locker Slips

Select one or more lockers and click Print Locker Slips to open printable handout cards. Choose 1, 2, or 4 slips per page. Each slip includes locker #, student, location, combination, instrument, and serial/asset.

Show Tips

Check the Show Tips box near the top of the page for a quick overview of how lockers work.

Best Practices for Band Directors

  • Create all lockers at the start of the year, then assign students and instruments as needed.
  • Keep the current combination accurate — the slips and list always show the one marked current.
  • Link instruments from Instrument Inventory so serial numbers appear on the slips automatically.
  • Print locker slips when handing out combinations so students have a physical record.
  • Use status (Out of service / Needs repair) for lockers that should not be assigned.
