Connect Stripe so parents can pay student fees and fundraiser gifts by card — securely, without creating a parent login.
Online Payments is where you connect your program to Stripe and choose which ledger account receives card deposits. Once set up, parents can pay student balances and fundraiser amounts by card through secure public links and QR codes.
Parents scan a student’s QR code (or open the public fee summary link) and pay all or part of the balance by card. Payments post as credits on the student and to your deposit account.
Each fundraiser can have its own public pay page and QR code so supporters can give by card without logging in. See the Fundraising help page for details.
Money goes to your program’s connected Stripe account (Express). You do not enter bank routing or account numbers into FireSafe — Stripe handles payouts.
You choose which FireSafe account receives the online payment credits so your books stay reconciled with the bank.
On the Online Payments page, start Stripe Connect onboarding. You will complete Stripe’s Express onboarding (business details, identity, bank for payouts). When status shows ready and charges are enabled, card payments can be accepted.
Select the FireSafe ledger account that should receive credits from online payments (for example, your main checking or an “Online Deposits” account). This must be set before pay links will work.
On the Students page, use Online Payments to choose which income category should be applied when parents pay student fees by card. Fundraiser pay links can also use a category set on each fundraiser.
Important
Until Stripe Connect is ready and a deposit account is selected, public pay links (student and fundraiser) will not accept payments.
On a fundraiser’s detail page you can enable a public pay link, set a default amount and category, then copy the link or QR code. Supporters pay on a simple public page. Details are covered in the Fundraising help guide.
Card processing fees are handled by Stripe. Where applicable, FireSafe may add a small online convenience fee at checkout so the music program receives the full intended gift or fee amount. Platform application fees (when used) are kept minimal.
